gnome-subtitles software package provides Subtitle editor for the GNOME Desktop environment, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install gnome-subtitles
gnome-subtitles is installed in your system.
Make ensure the gnome-subtitles package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep gnome-subtitles *
You will get with gnome-subtitles package name, version, architecture and description in a table
